*SCARCE WINCHESTER PRE-WAR MODEL 70 RIFLE. Cal. 250-3000. SN 24546. Standard grade rifle with 24″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight with hood, Lyman slot blank in the rear seat and a Lyman 48 WJS short slide receiver sight with hunting knobs. Standard 1-pc stock with checkered forestock & grip and checkered steel buttplate with factory sling swivels. The rear bridge is drilled and tapped. It is accompanied by a red & white plastic tag identifying this rifle indicating that it had been a part of the Peter & Patty Murray Collection. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Metal retains 97-98% strong orig blue with a few minor nicks & scratches and some minor wear at the back of the receiver and muzzle edge. Stock is sound with light handling & use marks and a series of small scratches on the bottom of the forestock and retains 95-96% strong orig varnish.
