RARE 15” GRACE COREY ROCKWELL DOLL. This German bisque-head character doll, designed by Grace Corey Rockwell for George Borgfeldt & Co., was originally marketed as “Pretty Peggy.” Bisque head manufactured by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck and marked “1391/30,” circa 1926-1928. Her molded bobbed hair is in a Patsy-type style, along with her superb modeling. She is on a cloth body with composition arms and legs with blue glass sleep eyes, and wearing a period cotton dress and pink felt coat. If you are looking for the rare and unusual, this is the doll for you. SIZE: 15”. CONDITION: Overall very fine; slight crazing to composition body parts. Miniscule eye flake that has been professionally touched-up.
