HANDEL PINE TREE OVERLAY LAMP. Spectacular Handel metal overlay lamp has rare pine tree design in eight panels against magnificent red sunset glass. Background trees at bottom of each sunset panel are obverse painted while inside of tree trunks and foliage are also obverse painted. Border of the shade has pine needle design against green glass background. Shade rests atop a wonderful bulbous base with a band of stylized flowers and leaves. Ribbed riser leads to three socket cluster. Base has very nice rich, brown patina and is signed on the bottom in raised letters “Handel”. Identical example pictured in DeFalco’s book “Metal Overlays by Handel” page 88. SIZE: Shade is 24 in. dia corner to corner. Overall height is 25-1/2 in. CONDITION: Extremely minor loss to overlay, otherwise very good to excellent. 5-60286 (12,500-17,500)
