*BELGIAN BROWNING GRADE II SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. SN 4T87798. Spectacular little auto with 19-3/8″ round bbl, brass bead front sight and folding rear sight. Receiver is French gray with very well executed vignettes of two prairie dogs on the left side, two squirrels in a tree on the right side and a flying duck on the top. The top vignette is engraver signed, “AM” for factory engraver Andre Marechal. Around the vignettes are beautiful blossom patterns with straight line borders. It is mounted with extremely beautiful, highly figured, dark walnut with beavertail forearm and semi-pistol grip stock and serrated steel buttplate. It is accompanied by a Browning dark brown leatherette case with dark brown fleece lining. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 99% strong bright orig blue and the receiver about all of its fine French gray finish with three or four tiny spots of surface rust and a few nicks in the shellac covering. Wood is sound with a small dent in the left side of the buttstock and otherwise very minor handling & use marks. A truly beautiful little rifle. 4-53907 JR563 (1,000-1,500)
