NEW ENGLAND SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY TESTER BED. The rectangular molded canopy above boldly turned posts, the foot posts spiral turned, the head posts swelled with bell turned elements joined to a shaped headboard with scrolled ears. PROVENANCE: Purported by consignor that this bed was a wedding gift to her mother from an Episcopal priest in Hingham, Massachusetts, a relative of Daniel Webster and also that the bed had always been in his family. PROVENANCE: From a Harpswell, Maine home. SIZE: 85” overall h x 79-1/2 overall l x 55” overall w. CONDITION: Old cleaned surface with good color, frame has been altered to accommodate full-size box spring and mattress. Bed comes with material for canopy and drapes. 9-90080 QP (2,000-4,000)
