Watercolor on paper interior scene shows a nude woman seated on a bed with arms raised combing her long black hair against an orange and gray geometric background. Signed upper right “James Fitzgerald”. Housed in a modern silver and black frame with double ivory mattes. Attached to reverse is a statement of authenticity from Mrs. Edgar F. Hubert indicating that the watercolor was in James Fitzgerald’s studio on Monhegan Island, Maine, 1971. Collection No. 233. A most unusual subject matter for this Monhegan Island artist.
