*EXCEPTIONAL DWM MODEL 1906 FIRST ISSUE NAVY LUGER UNALTERED. SN 1663a. Cal. 9 mm. Extremely rare unaltered 1st issue Navy Luger with 6″ bbl, DWM scroll on front toggle link, 100/200 meter adjustable Navy rear sight on rear toggle link & crown “M” proofs on left side of receiver & bbl. It has grip safety with thumb safety in lower position and marked “GESICHERT” (most of these pistols have the safety altered to the upper position). Naval unit marked “WK” over “1412” above stock lug. Accompanied by an orig concentric ring Navy magazine numbered “1768”. This model is very difficult to find without the altered safety and very rare in this condition. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching except grips & firing pin. Overall retains about 97-98% strong orig factory blue & about 90% orig straw colors. Grips are very fine, dark from hand grease & show light wear with a couple of chipped diamonds. Magazine is extremely fine. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore. 4-36142 JR210 & BS (15,000-20,000)
