SPECTACULAR CANDA UPRIGHT POKER MACHINE. Turn of the century poker machine which were most popular in the saloons, country store, etc. to stimulate trade and perhaps a chance for the prospective player to win cigars. A large electroplated iron casting adorns the front. And visible through the front window are five reels with playing cards. A cast iron framed award card (replaced) sits atop the machine. A handsomely crafted paneled oak cabinet contains the mechanism. Upon depositing a nickel, one would depress the lever, allowing the reels to cock and spin, while viewing the last coin played in a window below the handle. Machine is on an original oak paneled base cabinet which is rarely found together with the machine. Access to mechanism is gained through back door and a side entry coin box is intact. SIZE: 58″ h x 18″ w x 15″ d. CONDITION: Overall very fine restored condition. 1-8925 JL (5,500-7,500)
