RARE SMITH & WESSON REVOLVING RIFLE. Cal. 320 S&W. SN 373. Fine, early revolving rifle, blue finish with 18″ keyhole bbl, tiny clamped on orig Rocky Mountain style front sight and 2-position flip rear sight. It has tiny red & black marbled hard rubber forearm with S&W logo and matching S&W logo diamond checkered grips. It is accompanied by an orig attachable stock with very highly figured walnut butt stock that has a black S&W logo checkered hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl retains about 90-92% strong orig blue with some flaking and light wear. Missing areas are a light patina. Frame retains about 90% strong orig blue, also with some light flaking turned to patina and some light scattered rust on the sideplate and both sides of the frame. Cylinder retains strong blue in the flutes, otherwise is a plum patina with light rust pitting in areas along with a ding on the front edge. One of the sideplate screws is battered and some of the other screws have slipped edges. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with a very few, very scattered spots of light rust. Stock iron retains about 80% thin orig blue, strong & bright in the sheltered areas. Stock knurled thumb screw is fine. Wood has a gouge in the comb, otherwise is fine with light handling & use marks and retains most of its orig oil finish. Buttplate is fine. 4-54946 JR687 (10,000-15,000)
