*SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 1375925. 24” bbl dated “3-39”. This “1939” dated Springfield has a star gauged bbl but does not have any of the other accessories that would deem it a National Match. Stock has been replaced somewhere along the line with a straight “S” type stock with no finger grooves & hand guard assembly, both of which have been significantly sanded. CONDITION: Receiver retains 95% orig dark Parkerizing, as does the sight sleeve & rear sight assembly. Bbl shows 95% blue finish with only minor wear & light scratches. Front bbl band shows approx. 80-85% of dark parkerized finish with some scratches on both sides. Middle bbl band, though grooved, is a later replacement being that it is “R” marked. Trigger guard & floorplate assembly are in approx. 85-90% of dark parkerized finish with a slight buggering of screws. Bolt is standard 03A1 & not a polished or numbered National Match bolt. Smooth buttplate assembly has virtually no finish but is not overly abused. Stock & hand guard assemblies have both been heavily sanded thus showing a minimum of scarring with exception of one 3/4” long gouge in top of hand guard between front & middle bands. Bore shows excellent, bright & shiny with crisp rifling & is equipped with a commercial Boyt sling. 4-57781 (2,000-4,000)
