JOHN SWAN (American, 1948- ) “PARMACHENE GROUSE”. Oil on Masonite Housed in modern gilt wood frame with linen liner Signed lower right “John Swan 87”. Note: This painting was on the cover of “Gray’s Sporting Journal” in the fall issue of 87 and the cover of “Shooting Sportsmen” a year or two later, and in the “Art of Shooting Flying”, also included in numerous other publications and issued as a limited edition print. According to the artist, it depicts his brother-in-law and his dog in one of his favorite grouse covers in Maine. SIZE: 24″ x 38″. Overall: 31-1/2″ x 45″.
