*GRIFFIN & HOWE CUSTOM SPORTING RIFLE. Cal 22 hornet. SN 1044. Built on a Springfield M 1922 action with 24” tapered medium weight bbl with sleeve ramp front sight and bbl mounted sling base. It is mounted in a nicely figured, typical Griffin & Howe half stock with horn forend tip, deep cheek piece and a Niedner steel buttplate with trap. Left side of the receiver is mounted with a single lever G & H mount containing a 7/8” tube Hensoldt Ziel-Dialyt 4X scope. The bottom of the stock is mounted with a sling swivel stud and initial plate having the initials “CSL”. It retains the original military 1903 floorplate and military style two-stage trigger. The receiver has been modified to accept the shorter cartridge with the bolt body, rails, and follower jeweled. The bolt knob is checkered and the receiver is mounted with a Lyman 48 peep sight. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Iron retains 85-90% original blue with light pitting over the top of the bbl and receiver. Scope body has moderate pitting overall. Stock has a replaced chip and crack in back of the top tang and the forend tip is cracked. Otherwise retains most of its original finish. Bore is mostly bright with scattered moderate pitting. 4-50215 JR191 (500-1,000)
