*RARE JUREK SINGLE SHOT TARGET PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. SN 27. Hand made free- style single shot target pistol with 8-5/8″ tapered rnd bbl with ramp front sight and fully adjustable open rear sight. Dr. M.K. Jurek of Birmingham, England, a Polish ex-patriate who was employed at Webley and helped design a number of their fine pistols, built it. More information can be obtained regarding Dr. Jurek, with photos of him and one of these pistols, by reading any one of several books on the Webley pistol. Specific informationis available on pgs 296 & 297 of Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols by Gordon Bruce. It states that he left Webley & Scott and went into his own business in Birmingham and built “a series of highly accurate target pistols” of his own design. The pistol is built on a thin solid frame with faceted receiver top and with a slide similar to a semi-automatic pistol but requires depressing a thumb latch on the right side to manually open it for extraction or loading. It has a very large trigger guard with long serrated adjustable trigger and is fitted with left hand free- style adjustable walnut grips. It has hand checkered front & backstraps and a serrated butt strap and is fitted with a tiny-checkered forearm. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Retains about 97-98% dark orig blue overall with sound grip & forestock that retain most of their orig finish. Mechanics are good, bright shiny bore. 4-53908 JR692 (2,000-3,000)
