*SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 03 SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 22 Auto. 1 of only a few of these rifles manufactured without a safety. Referred to by Winchester as a style “B”. Standard grade with 20” tapered round bbl, usual open sights, uncheckered wood with straight stock and smooth crescent steel buttplate. Top tang is without sight screw holes. Accompanied by a Winchester letter identifying this rifle as a style “B”. Received in the warehouse June 27, 1903, “To Russ on October 10, 1903, shipped December 7, 1903 to order #215382. SN 2136. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 95-96% original blue with a few scattered spots of light rust. Receiver retains about 60% bright original blue with cleaning scratches on right side and chemical spotting over left side with moderate pitting. Trigger guard and bottom of receiver are blue brown. Wood is sound and retains about 95% original varnish with numerous light nicks and scratches to the surface finish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-48816 JR644 (600-1,000)
