ALBERT ERNEST CARRIER BELLEUSE (French, 1814-1887) “LA CHARMEUSE DE PANTHERES”. Fine bronze depicts a nude young maiden with horn sitting atop a marble column being pursued by two panthers. The panthers are separately mounted on the fine rose and white variegated marble column which has bronze trim with eight sides, stepped base and central round column. Bronze is signed “Carrier-Belleuse”. Base edge having a number “8783”. SIZE: Overall is 28-1/2″ h. CONDITION: The horn has a creased dent, uneven finish, old patina.
