AMERICAN ROCOCO CARVED ROSEWOOD BOOKCASE, BOSTON OR PHILADELPHIA. Circa 1860. The molded cornice surmounted by an architectural pediment crest applied with a carved star above scrolling vinery fitted to the rectangular case fitted with a pair of glass-paneled doors beneath carved leaf tip applied spandrels, the pilasters with scrolled carving. The cabinet itself is stepped back on the conforming base fitted with a pair of aligned, molded drawers with fishscale pilasters on a molded plinth. SIZE: 8’10″h x 57″w x 20″d. CONDITION: Professionally refinished and restored. The crest well fitted with professionally restored pediments and proportioned with rich color and good patina. 9-94171 (3,000-5,000)
