LARGE WEDGWOOD QUEENS WARE PLATTER IN ORIENTAL TASTE. Late 18th/early 19th century. The center decorated overall with floral sprigs, heron, insects and two fanciful turtles within a border of alternating pale green and cinnabar colored reserves, each decorated with a polychrome butterfly within flower heads. Impressed “WEDGWOOD”, also with the numeral “6” and mounted with a custom brass hanging frame. SIZE: 18-1/2″ dia. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Structurally good with overall wear to enameled surfaces and with light scratches within the center. 9-23256 (1,000-2,000)
