*SCARCE COLT BIJAN MODEL DETECTIVE SPECIAL DA REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spcl. SN P99541. Custom Shop special with full shroud, 2-1/8″ bbl, fixed sights, high polish blue with gold-plated cylinder, ejector rod and cylinder latch. It is fitted with very beautiful smooth gold medallion pearl grips. This series of revolvers was produced at Colt with the intention of selling to a designer type of clientele with only ten ever being produced. The first one sold, reportedly brought over $10,000. Accompanied by its orig 1-pc wood grain Styrofoam lined cardboard box with its orig checkered walnut grips and detached end flap with green Custom Shop label, fully identifying this revolver with the notation “5 of 10”. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter fully identifying this revolver and indicating shipment October 22, 1984 to Aeromarine, Birmingham, AL in a shipment of ten identical firearms. CONDITION: Extremely fine, unfired. Retains virtually all of its bright orig factory finish. Pearl grips are spectacular and nearly flawless. Orig box is tattered and worn with both end flaps detached but present. Orig grips are fine. 4-53874 JR508 (1,500-2,500)
