BRONZE AESTHETIC MOVEMENT FLOOR LAMP. Very unusual bronze floor lamp base is classic aesthetic movement design with three legs ascending from cast turkey feet. The legs are decorated with turquoise art pottery tiles and end in downward facing bird heads having long slender beaks. Above the bird heads is a triangular section with twisted pillars at each corner and an art pottery tile in the center. A cast section of three bird heads supports an openwork font. According to the website at Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Museum of Art in Utica, New York. The lamp base was made by R. Hollings & Co. and the art pottery were made by J & J Low Art Tile Works. More information can be found and the only other example we could find of this lamp is pictured at http://www.wilsonart.com/design/statement/viewarticle/asp?articleid=280. SIZE: 59″ t overall. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with a slight casting split on center column from the mfg. Font and font collar appear to be slightly different patina.
