RARE MODEL 1893 DWM BORCHARDT SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 1295. Cal. 30 Borchardt. Very rare pistol with 7-1/2″ tapered rnd bbl, fixed sights with checkered walnut grips & one matching numbered magazine. Left side of bbl has “BUG” Oberndorf proofs with “BU” proofs on left side of receiver, breech block & front toggle link. It has patent markings on front toggle link and Borchardt & DWM markings over “BERLIN” on right side of receiver. Accompanied by a reproduction black leatherette covered, green felt lined case, compartmented in bottom for accompanying stock & holster with pistol, an unnumbered cheekpiece, a small turnscrew, a reproduction dummy cleaning magazine with attached oil bottle, an orig black leather sling, an orig tin oiler in a black leather case and the orig functioning key. Only about 1,900 of these rare pistols were ever made beginning in about 1895. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all visible numbers matching. Overall retains about 98% strong orig factory blue with only faint muzzle & sharp edge wear. Small parts retain most of their orig fire blue with extremely fine grips showing only very light wear. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Holster is extremely fine for this model, sound with lightly crackled surface & retaining about 80% orig black finish. Stock is also extremely fine with minor nicks & scratches & retains most of its bright orig factory blue on attaching iron & screws. Sling is soft & supple with heavy flexing & retains about 50% orig finish. Oiler & cheekpiece are fine. Case is new. 4-36114 JR234 (30,000-45,000)
