“REEL 21” CAST ALUMINUM TRADE STIMULATOR. A classic 1930s trade stimulator that allowed the player to participate in a game of Black Jack against the house. The player being dealt two cards while trying to get to a total card count of 21, would have the option of “taking” a third and/or fourth card (pushing respective buttons) in the hopes of beating the dealer. When the player has decided to “hit” or “stand” he then can push the center button and expose the dealer’s hand to see who has won. A gumball was always dispensed with every turn to circumvent the gambling laws of the day. These counter top treasures were heavily used during the time period and were a true money maker for the store owner. This machine is on a seldom found small wood base. SIZE: 11-1/2″ w x 11″ h x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Overall very fine original operating condition. 1-8929 APT (500-700) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2008 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
