*ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1917 DA REVOLVER. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 71742. Nickel finish with 5-1/2″ bbl, integral half-moon front sight and Lanyard loop in the butt. It has marbled gold colored plastic grips. The frame & cylinder are lightly engraved, through the nickel, with about 40% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns and the top strap is inscribed “A.W. NIXON” on the right side and ‘”DETROIT MICH” on the left side. On the left side of the crane there is an engraved six-pointed star. It still has the Ordnance Corps flaming bomb at the top left rear of the flame and “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on the bottom of the bbl. CONDITION: Overall retains about 95% of its custom nickel finish. Grips are fine, slightly shrunken at the top. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-54875 JR523 (500-1,000)
