HUBLEY FRIENDSHIP SEAPLANE. A true classic and a highly sought after toy airplane. A typical seaplane of the 1930s, this tri-motor is enameled in a vibrant yellow with blue trim. When the child would pull the cord and drag the toy behind him, the three nickel plated propellers would turn in unison and the child would imagine the plane taking off into the wild blue yonder. Original pull cord is intact and never unraveled, this toy would benefit greatly from a light cleaning to remove 70 years of dust and dirt accumulation. SIZE: 13″ wingspan. PROVENANCE: From the collection of the late Larry Seiber of San Jose, CA. CONDITION: Very fine plus with a tight hairline crack to fuselage (in front of pilot). 1-9111 (1,500-2,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2009 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
