**FINE STEN MARK II SUBMACHINE GUN (FULLY TRANSFERABLE). SN E685. Cal. 9 mm. 8″ bbl, Mk II. Standard Sten Mark II parts, on a Charles Erb registered receiver. Accessories include bayonet with scabbard, 3 magazines, and a Bren canvas web wallet, which contains a spare Sten Mark II magazine housing assembly, trigger sear and internal parts. Also included is a web sling on the loop type buttstock. This weapon appears fully functional, fire mechanism operates smoothly when cycled by hand. Magazines fit well into magazine housing. All in all one of the more handsome examples of a Sten with good black enamel finish and good internals, a fine dependable shooter. PROVENANCE: Murray (Chip) Beckford Collection CONDITION: With the exception of the loop buttstock this weapon has a black enamel paint finish, in very good overall condition, shiny and bright bore with clean lands end grooves. Bolt face is clean and appears to have seen very little use. Main spring has proper strong tension, loop stock is re-blued over some light pitting, but still very handsome and presentable in appearance. Web sling with brass buckle in very good condition, very serviceable. Magazines are also very serviceable, one showing more wear than the other two, one of which has a “SA” proof mark indicating a Finnish issue. 4-39234 (3,000-5,000)
