22” GERMAN CLOSE MOUTH TURNED SHOULDER HEAD DOLL. Unmarked but attributed to Kestner. With brown glass stationary eyes, on gusseted leather body with bisque lower arms dressed in a two-piece dark green taffeta costume trimmed in mauve silk and ivory lace. Antique undergarments and newer black oilcloth shoes complete with buckles. Wearing an antique brown human hair wig over original plaster pate topped with a black velvet hat decorated with silk roses and black feathers. CONDITION: Overall condition very good, however a black kiln dust spot between the eyes and an inherent roughness to the inside of one finger. RS 1-3565 (800-1,200)
