*1903 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE. Cal 30-06. SN 470828. 24” bbl and dated “April 1911”. A very interesting note that this rifle comes with what appears to be a framed orig star gauging record from the Springfield Armory dated August 3, 1911. Record reads “Star gauging record for US Magazine rifle M1903 with SN of the gun”. Star gauging record is tattered on outside edges and trimmed to prevent further erosion, but appears to be 100% authentic. Mechanically fine. CONDITION: Rifle is in fine condition with 85-90% color on receiver, 80% color on bolt and 95% orig blue on bbl and front band. Lower band assembly and floorplate assembly have significant blue wear but do not detract from the gun in the least. JFC inspected single bolt stock is in very fine condition with minimal scuff marks and hand guard is the same. Checkered buttplate and screws retain most all of their orig finish. Front sight hood is a later replacement. Inspector’s note: Upon gauging the throat erosion on this rifle, it is slightly over #1 showing almost no wear with a bright shiny bore. 4-57815 (3,500-5,500)
