WESSON FIREARMS DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Rare Wesson hammer shotgun with 28” bbl, marked on the top rib “Wesson Firearms Co. Springfield, Mass” in small letters. Bbls have dolls head extension and receiver, foreend iron, hammers, tangs and trigger guard have full coverage fine foliate arabesque pattern engravings. The initials of DB Wesson appear just behind the opening lever. Wood is modestly figured walnut with full checkered 3-pc forearm and straight stock with nicely engraved skeleton buttplate with center checkering. SN 4. CONDITION: Fair. Bbls retain a silvery pattern with a repair to the rib extension dolls head. Metal retains an overall gray patina and the wood is worn with a replaced foreend tip and an amateur attempt to re-cut the checkering on the left side of wrist.
