TWO VICTORIAN COVERED JARS. 1) Wonderful Crown Milano biscuit jar has green and white floral decorated background with gold gilt and white flowers in the foreground. The jar is fitted with a silver plated collar, handle and lid. Lid is decorated with an allover floral repousse design with applied silver plated butterfly. Jar is marked on the underside with a Crown Milano mark and “521”, while the lid is marked “MW 4418”. 2) Wave Crest dresser jar has impressed top which is further decorated with blue enameled flowers and brown stems. Top and bottom are attached with a brass hinged collar and catch. Signed on the underside with red stamp “Wave Crest CFM Co. Trademark”. SIZE: 7″ dia x 9″ to top of handle and 3″ sq x 2-1/4″ t respectively. PROVENANCE: From a private Virginia collection. CONDITION: 1) Very good with wear to silver plating. Butterfly has old solder repair. 2) Very good to excellent. Missing silk lining. 5-60361, 5-60365 (100-300)
