TWO ENGLISH ART GLASS BOWLS. 1) Interesting bowl or basket has a melon ribbed, slightly swirling body leading to a ruffled rim. Body and rim of the piece are done in amber colored glass with a random overshot pattern of blue and white. Bowl is finished with an amber molded twig handle. 2) Amethyst glass bowl with vertically ribbed body and scalloped rim. Bowl is internally decorated with silver and blue foil inclusions and finished with a clear glass applied lip. Bowl is marked on the underside with hand etched English registry mark which indicates that the vase was made November 17, 1882. SIZE: 6″ t and 6″ dia respectively. PROVENANCE: From a private Pennsylvania collection. CONDITION: 1) Very good with an internal stress fracture in one rib that does not break the surface. 2) Very good with internal stress line in the middle of the polished pontil which does not break the surface. 5-60246, 5-60257 (100-300)
