ARCADE CHECKER CAB. An outstanding all original example, this lifelike replica of the real Checker cab from the mid-late 1930s was presented in toy form by Arcade. Although not inscribed “Checker” on windshield visor, this is a rare version with an elaborate nickel plated grille with headlights and rubber tired wheels including the spare affixed to the rear of cab. This example is completely painted in a butterscotch color with only the roof enameled in black and black highlighting to lower passenger frame windows. SIZE: 9″ l. PROVENANCE: From the collection of the late Larry Seiber of San Jose, CA. CONDITION: Very fine plus, hairline crack to right rear bumper support. 1-9089 (12,000-15,000)
