*1903 SPRINGFIELD SNIPER RIFLE. Cal 30-06. SN 990718. 24” bbl dated “01 – 18”. Orig WWI sniper rifle with Warner and Swasey Model 1913 telescopic musket sight. Exterior of scope is paint over brass body with brass plates with ranging instructions. It is accompanied by leather case for scope. Orig sights as well as scope. Initials “A.R.” stamped on the rear sight base on the left side. “J.F.C.” inspected with initials “A.S.” in 1/2” letters above the “J.F.C.”. Examples of orig WWI sniper rifles are very scarce. CONDITION: Rifle has orig black parkerized finish with approx. 95-98% finish remaining. Bbl shows 95-98% of the orig black Parkerizing with a bright shiny bore. Bolt body maybe a replacement. Rubber eye piece in telescope is intact but dry. Optics appear clear, although a lot of debris inside scope. 4-57807 BK20 (4,000-6,000)
