*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 1903 RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 1030699. 23-1/2” bbl. This is a heavy bbl international rifle, possibly a composite. Bbl measures 1-1/2” in diameter. Rifle is also equipped with a Lyman 48 receiver sight & a hooded globe type front sight with no maker name with a Patent number “1.901.399”. Rifle is equipped with an international palm rest that is mounted with a piece of brass on floorplate of gun. CONDITION: Receiver appears to have approx. 95% orig Parkerizing with some slight dispersion around front receiver ring from tightening bbl. Bolt has no finish, shows a little bit of oxidation & is of swept back variety. Bbl has 90% Parkerizing with Unertl scope blocks mounted just in front of receiver ring & behind middle band. Middle or front band looks like a modified 1917 Enfield band which is common of these heavy bbl target rifles. Only markings on bbl are on bottom in front of the stock marked with “J77” with a “P” underneath. Stock is a finger groove 2-bolt stock that has been cut 2-1/2” in front of middle band. Bbl channel has been opened up & inletted to accommodate this barreled action. Trigger guard assembly is in excellent condition retaining 90% of orig bright blue with minor scuffing in finish & same with magazine floorplate with exception of having palm rest mounted to bottom of it. Buttplate is checkered & retains 95% parkerized finish. Bore shows dark with strong rifling but is dirty & might clean up very well. 4-57816 BK48 (1,000-2,000)
