SCOTT (NICHOLAS WINFIELD) LEIGHTON (AMERICAN, 1849 – 1898) PASTURE MATES. Fine oil on canvas landscape showing a brown and a white horse in grass meadow with tree background under white cloud and blue sky. Signed lower right. Housed in a fine probably original gilt gesso-decorated wood frame with gilt liner. Leighton was a Maine artist and was known for his fine rendering of horses. SIZE: 8″ x 10″.
