ROGERS GROUP “THE COUNCIL OF WAR”. Figural group shows Lincoln seated in an armchair looking at a large unfolded document. Grant is seen on his right pointing at the document while looking across at Stanton. Bottom with title in front also “Patented March 31, 1868 John Rogers New York” on top of base. This version shows Stanton wiping his glasses over Lincoln’s shoulder. PROVENANCE: The J. Hollis Wyman Estate, Milbridge, Maine (State Senator and Wild Blueberry King). SIZE: 24-1/2” h x 17” w. CONDITION: There is flaking to the original surface, very minor chips. Generally good. 9-29353 (400-800)
