MASSACHUSETTS LABELED VICTORIAN MARBLE TOP WALNUT TABLE. Mid-19th century. The white ‘turtle top’ form marble above the conforming molded frieze, raised on four outside acanthus-carved cabriole legs with scrolled feet, joined by a scrolled X-form stretcher with central urn-form finial. The apron retaining original label reading “From FELKER & CHEEVER/MANUFACTURERS/CENTRE SIDE AND SOFA TABLES/MANCHESTER MASS.” SIZE: 29-1/2″ h. x 41″ l. x 30″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Very good overall. Retains old cleaned surface. Apron drilled for wood screws and option of wood top, never used. Marble top probably original. 9-93633 (800-1,200)
