LOT OF 2 SMITH & WESSON #3 REVOLVERS. 1) Cal. 44 American. First Model with 8” bbl, pinned German silver front sight with 2-pc smooth walnut grips. SN 5995. CONDITION: Good. No original finish remains, all matching except the grips which are numbered 5959. Bbl, latch and cylinder have the frame assembly number. All metal surfaces are wire wheel cleaned with moderate to heavy pitting overall, very deep at the muzzle and one area at the cylinder. Left grip is cracked, otherwise they are fine. Strong shiny bore with moderate to heavy pitting, good mechanics. 2) Cal. 44 Russian, scarce short bbl 2nd Model, nickel finish, 6” bbl, 2-pc walnut grips. SN 30957. CONDITION: Poor to fair. 25% nickel remains, ejector ratchet pawl replaced, several replaced screws and homemade grips.
