*SMITH & WESSON REGULATION POLICE DA REVOLVER. Cal. 32 S&W. SN 657285. Tiny “I” frame revolver, blue finish, 5-screw frame, 4” bbl, tall Partridge front sight, with adjustable rear sight and extension 2-pc diamond checkered medallion walnut grips. Accompanied by its original red 2-pc box, with red & white end label. The label is overstamped “TARGET” and the directions inside the lid have the same overstamp as does the bottom of the box. Also accompanies is a Smith & Wesson letter identifying this revolver and indicating it was shipped April 30, 1958 to H.H. Harris Company, Chicago, IL. Also accompanies are pages 154-156 of an unknown publication which indicates that 196 target models were completed in 1957 in the serial range 657174 thru 657369. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains about 98% strong, bright original blue and varnish on the grips. Crisp mechanics and bright shiny bore. Appears to be unfired. Box is fine with one small split on a side of the top. Otherwise has light handling & use scratches & wear. 4-51806 JR547 (500-800)
