FRENCH GILT PATINATED METAL “SWINGING BABY” FIGURAL CLOCK. Circa 1880. The circular enamel dial mounted with an eight-day time only movement with open escapement, signed “Chappement Brevette”, the crest cast with fruit, grains, and farm implements, raised on inscrolled floral supports centering an unusual pendulum cast with a baby in a swing, the pendulum moving from front to rear. The whole raised on a stepped and molded plinth base, raised on claw feet. SIZE: 13″ h. x 11″ w. CONDITION: Nice restored and regilded condition, the movement clean, the porcelain dial with hairlines between the numerals 4 and 5. Very nice overall. 9-94248 (750-1,000)
