**JOHNSON MODEL 1941 LIGHT MACHINEGUN (C&R). SN 1201. Cal. 30-06. 23″ bbl. 1941.Unique nonadjustable front sight, rear peep sight adjustable for elevation and windage(0-1000 yards). All metal is Parkerized Perforated bbl shroud. Left side horizontal magazine well. On right side opposite magazine well is hinged dust cover allowing access to magazine to utilize stripper clips for loading magazine while still inserted in firearm. Exceptional wooden foregrip. 2-pc wooden pistol grip and wooden rear butt stock. Accessories include one leather sling and orig web magazine satchel with 12 spare mags. Firing mechanism operates smoothly when cycled by hand, mags fit snugly in well, bipod legs rotate properly. PROVENANCE: Alan Brown Collection. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is very good to fine with finish coverage about 90%, thinning in places. Overall, very handsome. Wood stock shows some handling marks with a crack running on both sides of the buttstock about 4″ longitudinally from where wood meets rcvr back. Bore is shiny and bright with some light frosting. Internal parts are in good, serviceable condition. Canvas satchel is in very good condition overall, with two leather re-reinforcement corners missing and damage to a third. Canvas is very strong and mags are in very good, serviceable condition. A fine specimen of the Johnson light machine gun with spare magazines. An exceptionally rare and highly sought after collectors piece, particularly with the 12 spare magazines in carrying satchel. This would make an especially fine addition to a Class 3 collection, particularly those who collect U.S. arms of WWII. 4-39384 (20,000-30,000)
