WILLIAM TROST RICHARDS (American, 1833-1905) “GULL ROCKS, GUERNSEY”. Scene shows rocky coastline with some grass covering. Well-lit sunshine reflects in greenish blue ocean with light waves. Signed lower right Wm T. Richards. Housed in what appears to be its original frame with old title plaque. Also has pencil title on reverse. PROVENANCE: Originally from a Philadelphia area home. Several paintings of the Guernsey area known to have been painted around 1890 by this artist. SIZE: 9” h x 16” w. CONDITION: Very good. Under frame chip off top center. 5-71702 (30,000-40,000)
