*SMITH & WESSON K-22 MASTERPIECE DA REVOLVER. Cal. 22. SN K74644. K-22, 5-screw model with scarce 4-1/2″ ribbed bbl, patridge front sight, adjustable rear sight, narrow high hammer with narrow trigger and silver medallion diamond checkered magna grips numbered to this revolver. A Smith & Wesson factory letter identifying this revolver, which indicates it was shipped April 12, 1949 to Krause Hardware Co., Cincinnati, OH, accompanies it. The bbl length is not mentioned in the letter but close examination indicates that it is probably a factory job as the crown is right, the rib setback is correct and sight placement is correct, but is not guaranteed. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains 92-93% strong orig blue, thinning on the bbl, with muzzle & sharp edge wear. Retains most of its case colors on the hammer, slightly faded, and about 75% case colors on the trigger. Grips show moderate wear with chipped diamonds and a few nicks & scratches. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-53901 JR327 (400-700)
