FINE GEORGE III CARVED MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE. Circa 1785. In eight sections, the stepped molded cornice carved with leaftips and flowerheads fitted to the bookcase section of three parts, the center section with double lancet-arched doors, the end sections each with a single door, all opening to adjustable shelves, stepped back and fitted to the waisted lower section of three parts with leaftip-carved edge, the centermost fitted with a pair of cupboard doors flanked by single-door units, all fitted to the conforming plinth having a gadrooned edge. SIZE: 7’8″ h x 7’11-1/2″ w x 21-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Overall in very nice condition, retaining good old color and surface, having minor restorations, door panels with minimal and acceptable shrinkage. 9-92322 (15,000-20,000)
