AFTER ARTHUR FITZWILLIAM TAIT (American, 1819-1905) AFTER THE HUNT. Large oil on canvas scene shows recently hunted deer and fox outside a mountain hunting cabin. There are two hunters, one sitting on a log with dogs next to horse and the other blowing a horn to call in the dogs. A mountain landscape is seen in the background. Unsigned. Housed in its original gilt oak wide frame. SIZE: 26” x 36”. CONDITION: Relined, restored with inpainting. 9-74846 LG (5,000-10,000)
