**BREN MK 1(C&R). SN 5T8979. Registered in .303, but currently 8mm. 25-1/2” bbl with flash hider. Manufactured by “INGLIS” on right side of receiver, below 1944 appears but had been professionally xxx out by the Brits, and to the rear what looks like Chinese writing, indicating Bren gun supplied to China. Forward part of receiver is dated “1943” and “MK 1”. Includes 2 mags and MKI tripod. Mechanism operates smoothly when cycled by hand ad passes function check. Mags fit well in magazine well. PROVENANCE: A. William Vallerand Collection. CONDITION: Good condition overall, 60% on receiver and 60-65% overall with a nice, gray patina finish. Bbl currently in gun is marked 7.92, indicating 8mm. The left side receiver is also marked 7.92 and dated 1943. The wood has a rough finish, but is a dark brown with a lacquer over it, with very few handling marks. Wood color matches between buttstock and carrying handle. Excellent bright bore. Mags are in fine shape with no really no wear. A great find for the Bren gun collector in a caliber that is easy and relatively inexpensive to shoot. 4-39875 JWK206 (25,000-30,000)
