WESLEY ELBRIDGE WEBBER (AMERICAN, 1841 – 1914) ROCKY COAST MAINE. Large oil on canvas scene shows a small sailboat coming aground on a rock-strewn shoreline with worn coastal bank with trees. Other people in boat are just beyond and some sails are seen in distance with low hills beyond. Probably a scene from Down-east Maine. Signed lower right. Housed in what could be its original gesso-decorated frame with gilt liners. SIZE: 22″ X 36″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-20237 (3,000-5,000)
