*RARE SMITH & WESSON PRE-WAR REGISTERED MAGNUM DA REVOLVER. Cal. 357 Mag. SN 50150. Registered number “1832”. Blue finish with 6-1/2” bbl, full matted rib with McGivern gold bead partridge front sight with adjustable target rear sight. It has full, matted top strap. It has a patent marked hammer with serrated sides and full checkered spur and diamond checkered, magna grips numbered to another revolver. It has the early 5-screw frame. Accompanied by an orig, correct period, blue & gold 2-pc box. Also accompanied by a 2-page Smith & Wesson factory letter giving the history of these revolvers and indicating shipment on Jan. 21, 1937 to “William H. Hoegee Co., 158 South Main St., Los Angeles, CA” in a shipment of two of the same type revolvers. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Grips as noted. Revolver retains 96-97% glossy orig blue with some light muzzle & sharp edge wear and a few small flakes missing from the sideplate which have turned to medium patina. Grips retain most of their factory finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. The box has very worn edges and is moderately faded but completely intact. 4-30528 JR333 (5,500-7,500)
