SMITH & WESSON #3 RUSSIAN 3RD MODEL CONTRACT REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, integral front sight, Cyrillic address with Russian “KO” inspector mark and small “1874” at the left rear of the frame. Grips are modern replacement ivory that have been artificially aged. Butt has a lanyard loop and the serial number is parallel to the frame rather than transverse. SN 7916. CONDITION: Fair to good. Traces of original finish in the very sheltered areas with the balance a gray patina with light pitting, heavy at the muzzle. All matching except the grips, which are replacements. Screws are battered. Strong bright bore with moderate pitting, cylinder stop does no engage, otherwise good mechanics. 4-47922 JR69 (Anderson Collection) (750-1,500)
