SMITH & WESSON #3 RUSSIAN 3RD MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. 6-1/2” “Russian Model” commercial marked bbl with integral front sight. 2-pc smooth walnut grips and a lanyard loop in the butt. Butt is marked with the date “1874” and a small “P” proof. SN 48186. CONDITION: Very good, all matching including the grips with the bbl, latch and cylinder stamped with the frame assembly number. Frame retains 75-80% strong bright original blue with some flaking and light surface rust. One or two battered screws. Bbl and cylinder are a light patina with light surface rust, heavier at the muzzle. Grips are fine with a smooth hand patina. Strong bright bore with light pitting, cylinder stop does not engage and the hammer safety notch will not hold. 4-47986 JR72 (Anderson Collection) (1,000-2,000)
