NEW YORK CLASSICAL MAHOGANY MIRRORED DRESSING TABLE WITH WHITE MARBLE TOP IN THE MANNER OF JOSEPH MEEKS (Active 1829-1835). The shield-shaped mirror with scrolling molded frame swiveling on a wishbone shaped support with scrolled volute terminals mounted on the rectangular case with inset white marble within a molded edge above the rectangular figured frieze fitted with a long drawer flanked by recessed molded panels raised on S-scrolled frontal supports joined by ogee-shaped consoles, joined to the rectangular rear support mounted on a conforming molded platform base, raised on recessed brass casters. SIZE: 72-3/4”h x 42”l x 18-3/4”d. CONDITION: Fine original condition with some dryness to surfaces and areas of molding missing: outer edges of drawer, right and left frieze moldings and proper right front foot moldings. Small edge chips in marble, hairline crack left front facing. Mirror retains original plate and backboard, marble original. 9-74461 MD (1,000-2,000)
