*WINCHESTER MODEL 21 CUSTOM GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Built for Marion D. Reavis, whose name appears on the rib, with 26″ vent rib bbls choked WS1/WS2 with full checkered beavertail forearm and checkered pistol grip Monte Carlo stock, 13-3/4″ over a Winchester red waffle pad. Receiver is flat sided with light engraving and gold inlays of a flying pheasant on the left side and bird dog on the right side. Stock is beautifully figured center crotch walnut with toe plate bearing initials “MDR”. It is fitted with ejectors and gold plated single selective trigger. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this shotgun exactly, that it was inspected on 1-9-69. The only difference is the original length of pull was 14-1/4″. A shotgun very similar to the one described herein is pictured on page 95 of WINCHESTER SHOTGUNS AND SHOTSHELLS by Ronald W. Stadt with the exception that the gold animals are reversed. The accompanying article states that the custom grade was offered in 1982 for $9,500. SN 32925. CONDITION: Excellent to as new. Appears to retain virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood with minor storage and handling marks and one small spot on the forearm. 4-46743 JR186 (5,000-10,000)
